Description
This is the first pass at the drawing game for the Experimental Gameplay Project. It was started on Sunday, December 13, 2010 at 12:00pm (noon) CST.

The idea was a platformer where you draw your own platforms. There is a fictional wrapper I’d also like to explore, if time is willing. For now, you will just have to deal with the seemingly random theme.

Concept
Drawing is intended to be pretty frenetic. Ideally you’ll be quickly leaping, wall jumping, and drawing smoke platforms to quickly traverse a number of obstacles and cover a lot of distance very quickly. I’m hoping to have levels that encourage exploration as opposed to memorization – use your smoke platforms and high speed to vault over some sections, while landing and working through other seconds. Hopefully each time you play a level, it feels different!

Unlike other platformers, I don’t want to make it about memorizing a predefined path through my levels. Instead I’d like to take a sort of parkour approach where I provide players with an interesting space and they use the tools they have to find their own path through it naturally.
